Enjoyed this book a lot. Well-paced and very absorbing.
I had seen the film with Charlotte Rampling as Eva Delectorskaya before, so I did tend to picture her looking as in the film, but it didn't spoil anything as I thought CR was great in the film.
We dot to and from the past to the present day as the story of Eva is revealed, along with that of her daughter. Themes of secrets and hidden lives and authenticity of relationships also explored.
As a side note, in these days of electronic spooks it was interesting to go back to "old-school" drops and surveillance.
