Set in New York, the story focuses on Liliane Quinn and a shortish period of her life in her twenties, with additional fleshing out of her family history.
A sort of whodunnit as her flatmate disappears and all the events that unroll thereafter are a very good and engaging read.
Big book but never boring. Very enjoyable.
Nicely constructed.
