The 3rd book in the Detective Matthew Venn series of murder mystery novels, set in North Devon.

Good build up and we got more details on the main characters. Denouement happened pretty quickly and then there was a detailed explanation of what happened by Venn to his colleagues Jen and Ross to let us in on the picture but it felt a little strange and felt a wee bit rushed and the throwing of the rocks onto the detectives seemed rather ridiculous.

The multiple felons and reasoning behind the murders didn't really convince.

So a little unsatisfactory but still an enjoyable, atmospheric read.
