Set mostly before and during the second world war, the actions of the young Briony Tallis have long-lasting effects on many lives.
Good read and well written.
Not clear at end whether all a story or whether some of the events did occur in Briony's life.
Interesting twist.
Very strong descriptions of the retreat of British soldiers - how appalling it all was.
