Enjoyable short stories but not his best. Twists and turns explore human behaviour and feelings and raising awarenesses of self.
Mrs Donaldson is employed as a mock patient for training young doctors and takes a couple of students in as lodgers with unexpected 'extras'.
Mrs Forbes thinks the world of her son, and is not best pleased in his choice of wife.
Not like husband who ends up having a relationship with her whilst son pursues extra-mural activities and ends up getting blackmailed. When all is revealed Mrs Forbes is not surprised at her son's daliances with other men, and whilst his wife is expecting twins, it could be father or son who is the father!
